Welcome to the New Shooter – Pistol course. This course is part of our mission to empower, educate, and support learners and their communities on their journey with firearms. The New Shooter - Pistol course provides the ideal foundation for shooters who are ready to take their first shots with a semi-automatic pistol.

ABOUT THE COURSE- New Shooter is a 4-hour introductory program designed to give new shooters the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to safely and confidently enjoy shooting a handgun. Ideal for those eager to learn the essentials of semi-automatic handgun operation, this course builds a strong foundation for safe and responsible participation at the range.

In this course, students will:

• Learn firearms safety rules and range rules and etiquette.
• Essential parts, functions, and operation of a semi-automatic handgun.
• Practice proper grip, stance, and trigger control for safe and accurate shooting.
• Develop safe firearm handling habits under the supervision of experienced instructors.
• Gain confidence through live-fire exercises designed for beginner success.

We understand that stepping into a new skill can be intimidating. That’s why this course integrates clear, supportive instruction with progressive skill development. The class begins with a focused classroom session, transitions to a layered dry-fire session and concludes with live-fire range exercises. Students are encouraged to ask questions and take notes. We also honor personal boundaries meaning any participant may choose to pause, observe, and rejoin when ready, always under instructor supervision. Class sizes are intentionally kept small to ensure personalized instruction and foster a supportive learning environment. While the course is designed to run approximately four hours, slight adjustments may be made based on student needs.
